Background
For the first time since IPY2012-Montreal the PEI international conference and workshop for polar educators is taking place as an intrinsic part of a polar science conference! The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) is an annual gathering of the Arctic Science Community organized by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC). However, the International Conference for Arctic Research Planning (ICARPIV) happens once a decade, giving polar educators a unique opportunity to learn about polar science and indigenous knowledge in and about the Arctic alongside researchers, policy makers, indigenous knowledge holders, artists and science communicators.
